Children’s Activity During our 10:30am Sunday Service

It is always a joy to welcome young families to the cathedral community. Parents with toddlers or young children are welcome to use the soft toys or the children’s activity table and books which are set out in the South aisle. If you aren’t sure where they are please ask one of the Stewards or welcomers. If you need baby changing facilities they are always available for parents in the unisex disabled toilet just through the corridor by the Jesus Chapel. Again please don’t hesitate to ask if you need the facilities.

Parents are responsible for their own children.

Manchester Children's Choir

Manchester Cathedral has relaunched Manchester Children’s Choir. Manchester Children’s Choir was founded in 1920s by composer Sir Hamilton Harty, who had the aim to make choral music and singing accessible to all children of Manchester and Salford, regardless of ability or background.

Manchester Children’s Choir will be open to all children between the ages of six and eleven and there will be no fees to be a member. Manchester Cathedral is proud to be an inclusive community and children of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome to join.

The Choir will sing a wide range repertoire from Beethoven to The Beatles and everything in between. The choir runs on a Saturday morning from 10am – 11:30am and is free to all members.

No experience needed, just come along and have fun.

The Cathedral Explorer's Trail!

Do you have what it takes to complete the ‘Explorer’s Trail’ at Manchester Cathedral? Can you find the ferocious beast in the St George’s Window, or name the fiery bird in the Regiment Chapel? Pick up your free copy of the ‘Explorer’s Trail’ for a fact-filled journey of discovery for children and families. You’ll need to keep your eyes peeled and your wits sharpened as you follow the map of the Cathedral, completing the challenges en-route. And don’t forget to borrow some binoculars from one of our welcomers to help you on your way. The Explorer’s Trail activity booklet is free of charge and suitable for ages 7-12.
