This is the final service in our year’s programme of events celebrating the bicentenary of the Act of Parliament abolishing the British transatlantic slave trade. It commemorates the beginning of the abolitionist campaign, the first great public meeting of which was actually held in our church on October 28th, 1787. We shall re-enact Thomas Clarkson’s historic sermon, on that occasion. And we will also be celebrating the present-day work of the Manchester diocesan Fair Trade Campaign.

The Cathedral is a ‘community centre’ through the year, but during Advent and Christmas it becomes a greater focus of prayer, praise and worship... Please download this booklet as a ‘diary’, a forward-planner so that you too can share in the celebrations. We look forward to seeing you.
