Michael is married and has twin daughters who will be joining him in Manchester following their GSCE examinations next May.

Derrick was appointed as a verger at the cathedral in 1982. During his 25 years of service Derrick has seen the cathedral change in many ways. He currently serves as the Senior Verger and shares the responsibility of leading the Vergers Department.
Derrick is married and has two sons.

 Martin Taylor Martin has a background in the building trade and has worked at the cathedral for the past 15 years. Martin is the Cathedral's Thurifer and works closely with others in training the Cathedral Servers.

Gareth will be joining the Vergers Department in November 2007 after offering many months of voluntary service to the Cathedral. He will begin as an 'Apprentice Verger' and continue his academic studies until he achieves an HNC. At 17, Gareth is our youngest member of staff.
