| Exploring A Christian Place of Worship |

Our most popular trail gives pupils the opportunity to discover the significance of Manchester Cathedral as a place of worship; past and present. Pupils will be able to identify the main aspects of a Church and Cathedral and examine the objects that are used in Christian worship.
This trail can be tailor-made to suit your learning objectives for example by including Rites of Passage and/ or Festivals.
You may wish for your pupils to experience the special atmosphere in the Cathedral for themselves by lighting a candle at the end of their visit in the Children's Chapel. This can be accompanied by a short time of reflection.
The Children's Chapel may also be used for prayers of Intercession (pupils are invited to write a prayer and leave it on the Intercession Board) or as an area for a short act of worship, which pupils can devise and prepare prior to the visit.
