Cathedral needs more warm welcomers |

Manchester is now the second most visited city in England and as a result many more visitors (from near and far) are coming to explore the treasures to be found at Manchester Cathedral. Whether people come to light a candle, attend a service or just to look round this special space, we need to welcome them and make them feel at home. As the first point of contact between the Church and the outside world, our Cathedral Welcomers ensure that visitors are greeted with warmth, and this helps to preserve the Cathedral's positive relationship with its congregation, local community and visitors. At present the Cathedral has a small team of committed Welcomers and we are keen to recruit more. We are looking for volunteers with good people skills who are able to give a small amount of time regularly to help the Cathedral in its ministry to visitors. Would you or someone you know like to help? To find out more please come to our New Welcomers Tea Party on Monday 28th January 2008, 2.30-3.30 in the Cathedral Library. Contact Pam Elliott at the Cathedral 0161 833 2220, extension 236 for more information.
