Bell Facts


There are now 10 bells, which were cast in 1925 by GILLETT & JOHNSON

The TENOR is 28 cwt in D

Total weight of present bells: 5 tons 15 cwt, hung in an oak frame dating from 1867

The original 5 bells were hung in 1465
Augmented to 6 bells 1679 (Noone)
Augmented to 8 bells 1706 (Rudhall)
Augmented to 10 bells 1825 (Rudhall)
Present ring of 10 bells 1925 (Gillett)
253 peals have been rung on the bells to the end of 1998

The bells are rung each week as follows

Sundays
9.45 am - 10.25 am
5.45 pm - 6.25 pm

Weekdays
8.00 pm - 9.30 pm
