Lighting Scheme

Why do we need a new lighting scheme?

The new lighting replaces systems which are now at least 25 years old and rely on light sources which are highly inefficient by modern day standards and in luminaires which are beyond economic repair. The existing electrical infrastructure is of poor quality and in need of replacement; the existing lighting is not fit for purpose.

The first phase of the lighting project includes the nave and aisles, the lower levels of the tower, two windows, emergency lighting and lighting in the Quire. The works involve the installation of new lighting systems through the areas mentioned and includes new luminaires, new wiring and new controls.

When is it happening?

The installation of the first phase of lighting began in May 2017 and is expected to complete in September 2017.
