Together Unafraid

Date: Saturday 17 March 2018 (10am to 3pm)

You are invited to paint a (small) part of a large banner that is about respect for our neighbours, whatever their religion - and those with none.

The Artist-in-Residence at Manchester Cathedral, Stephen Raw, is asking people to join together in painting a large banner with his words: 'Together Unafraid'. It's all about respect for our neighbours. The completed banner will be ready in time for the anniversary of the tragic Manchester Arena bomb on 22 May.

Stephen's hope is that people will take this opportunity to celebrate our diversity rather than be a community divided by religious intolerance. Your individually painted squares will digitally be brought together to form the banner which will hang in the Cathedral a few days before and after 22 May. Printed postcards of the artwork will be available for sale with profits going to some of the charities still helping those who continue to suffer the effects of the tragedy.

People of all ages - whether you are arty or not! are invited to come to the drop-in workshop (you'll probably need 30 minutes).

This project is being made possible with support from The Challenging Hate Forum and Faith Network 4 Manchester.
