Introducing BSL interpreted services
Published: 17 January 2019
Manchester Cathedral is a place of welcome for all and is committed to being an inclusive cathedral. We are very aware that people who use British Sign Language (BSL) as a first or preferred language have very few opportunities to worship in church in their own language.
We are therefore pleased to announce the introduction of British Sign Language (BSL) interpreted Sunday Eucharists as a way of ensuring that our services are more accessible to BSL users.
Starting on Sunday 3 February, the 10.30am Eucharist on the first Sunday of every month will be a BSL (British Sign Language) interpreted service. We look forward to welcoming BSL users to be part of the Cathedral congregation.
Thanks to Cathy Nightingale for creating a video to help spread the message.
