Transforming Worship

Transforming Worship is the title of an initiative launched by the Liturgical Commission of the Church of England in 2007. This title has been chosen because it is a deliberately ambiguous phrase. The purpose of the initiative, therefore, is broadly two-fold:

  • To transform the worshipping life of the Church
  • To encourage, enable and equip those who create and lead worship to lay the ground for God’s Spirit to transform worshippers as we worship.

The Transforming Worship website is part of this project, and contains much of interest to anyone wishing to explore worship further. The website contains both Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship service texts, information about workshops and training events, topical prayers and all sorts of other resources and lots of examples of good practice and good ideas.
