Our 2023 season of free coffee concerts and organs recitals announced!

We are thrilled announce a new season of free coffee concerts and organ recitals for spring and summer 2023.

Manchester Cathedral's Saturday Coffee Concerts offer some of the free best concerts in the city, with talented musicians performing in a beautiful and friendly setting and followed by complimentary cakes and refreshments.

The Saturday Coffee Concerts series is as follows:

-    March 18 at 11am – Joseph Dawson - Cello
Joseph has been a finalist of the RNCM's annual Concerto competition and Barbirolli competition, as well a recipient of scholarships from Help Musicians UK and the RNCM itself.
Last year Joseph was awarded the RNCM's Hirsch Chamber Music Award along with violinist Riley Court-Wood for their performance of Kodály's Duo for Violin and Cello.

-    April 22 at 11am – Harry Lai - Piano
Originating from Hong Kong, Harry Lai is currently studying for a Master of Performance degree in piano at the Royal Northern College of Music. As a fervent keyboardist, he has performed as a soloist, orchestral keyboardist and repetiteur. Harry is an enthusiastic chamber musician and has recently received the Avril Coleridge-Taylor Second Prize in the Williams-Howard Prize 2023.

-    May 13 at 11am – Lumiere Duo - Violin and Harp
The Lumiere Duo is a collaboration between violinist Ellie Marks, and harpist Ellie Wood.
This more unusual partnership of violin and harp provides a blend of diverse sounds, from familiar classics and popular music to traditional and folk music as well as brand new arrangements.
