Where to Eat
Café at the Cathedral
The Café at the Cathedral - a Proper Tea Establishment is a modern tearoom with a twist on the traditional.
The Café at the Cathedral offers a contemporary take on the traditional British tearoom, serving an impressive selection of loose leaf teas alongside fresh homemade meals and beautifully hand crafted cakes. The menu boasts a lovely afternoon tea selection, cream teas and cakes alongside hearty skillet baked breakfasts, Tuscan sausage stews, vibrant salads and delicious sandwiches.
Their ethos is to focus on quality, local produce, working with artisan producers for the best ingredients. Hand crafted bread is sourced from award winning bakers, Lovingly Artisan and Coffee is supplied by Ancoats Coffee Co, an independent favourite. Freshly baked heart scones straight out of the oven are most enjoyed at Café at the Cathedral.
Guests are greeted with a warm and friendly service in a contemporary yet cosy environment. Classical music playing throughout the café creates a relaxing feel for customers to enjoy. During the summer months you can enjoy your food and drinks picnic style sat on our grass directly outside the Cathedral. Great for basking on the glorious sunny days.
Afternoon Tea is served each day, comprised of three tiers stacked high with homemade sandwiches, savouries, miniature cakes and scones served with pot of loose leaf tea or glass of bubbly. Current favourites include Moroccan chicken with Harissa and olives and a Sicilian lemon and earl grey cake. A great excuse to turn any afternoon into a celebration.
