Daily Taster tours
FREE taster tours lasting approximately 30 minutes are available most days Monday to Saturday. Although there is no charge for these tours we welcome donations of £3 per person. When you arrive just ask one of our friendly volunteers for more information. Also ask about visiting our excavated fifteenth century Hanging Bridge (a scheduled ancient monument located in the basement of Manchester Cathedral Visitor Centre).
Please note that it is not possible to book these taster tours in advance and they are offered subject to volunteer availability on the day.
We offer private tours led by one of our knowledgeable Cathedral Guides. There is a charge of £6 per person (or £4 concession) which should be paid in advance to secure the booking. Cathedral Guided tours last approximately 1 hour.
If you wish to self-guide (providing your own tour leader / guide e.g. a Blue Badge Guide), there is a charge of £3 per person which should be paid in advance to secure the booking.
We would like you to experience the Cathedral at its best so we ask that all tours (guided or self-guided) are pre-booked into the Cathedral diary. This allows us to identify the best dates/times for your group to visit.
There may be times when we may need to rearrange or cancel a tour. In these circumstances, we will contact you as soon as possible, and will offer an alternative date.
School and College bookings
Educational visits can be arranged to correspond with curricular or special areas of interest - please ring the Education Officer, Pam Elliott to discuss on 0161 817 4814 or read more about our school and college visits here.
